About us

Delivering Academic Achievement. Creating Employability. Building Careers.

Tec-NQ – your senior school

We aim to provide positive academic outcomes to support the transition of students from school to the work environment. We do this through our strong industry and community networks and also, by providing our students with quality face-to-face instruction, mentoring and guidance which promotes the development of academic success, industry skills, resilience and a positive, proactive attitude.

Our integrated work-based curriculum is underpinned by active, successful life-long learning which nurtures confidence, creativity and delivers excellence in trade and academic skills so our students are work ready, employable individuals with the skills, drive and mindset to flourish in their chosen careers.

VISION

Creating employability and success through industry skills, experience and support.

MISSION

Tec-NQ is a North Queensland-based vocational education facility that partners with industry and community to deliver trade-based career opportunities through training and education.

Our Story

Trade Skills Shortages

Tec-NQ emerged as a solution to address the trade skills shortages in 2005. An alternative to traditional schooling, we were established to deliver the same outcomes, just in a work-based training environment. We promote excellence and equality through the integration of Australian education and trade training to facilitate employment solutions, workforce capability and prosperity in our communities.

Registered Training Organisation

As an independent registered training organisation (RTO), Tec-NQ delivers nationally accredited qualifications through the provision of full-time apprentice training, VET in Schools programs, short courses and training. Trainers are trade qualified and industry experienced.

Our Board

The Tec-NQ community acknowledges and thanks the Board Directors for their ongoing leadership and contribution. The hard-working team drives strategic direction to achieve the objectives of Tec-NQ which is critical for the continuing success of our organisation.
